The Oxfordshire Prevention and Early detectioN service (OPEN) is a mental health service for young people (14-35 years old), living in Oxford.
Our team specialises in identifying people at risk of psychosis [which is a state where people lose touch with reality]. This “high risk state” is difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are shared with many other conditions.

Our aims
We hope to help people get their lives back on track and move forward in whatever ways they consider most important and meaningful.
As a service, we aim to continually improve the care we provide – whether this is improving diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.
What we offer
We are currently developing our service.
We currently offer support for up to two years, for people struggling with unusual experiences like hearing voices or feeling paranoid, including assessments, signposting to other services and opportunities to get involved in research.
When our service is fully developed, we will offer:
- Talking therapies
- Medical consultation
- Practical support with issues such as housing and finances
- We also offer family meetings and support for carers
- The option to participate in research studies
We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you would like to know more about what we do, just get in touch [link to contact page].
